As most of you already know, Stanwood Camano Youth Football and Stanwood Youth Football have merged teams into one community team this year. Having one program will draw our kids together and make them a more cohesive unit. It will also foster the vision that our High School Football Coach has for a true K-12 football program. This merger is going to make our youth football program stronger, our high school program stronger, and our community stronger.
VETERAN registration begins TODAY, April 11, 2013 and will guarantee* your player a spot on one of our teams! OPEN registration begins on April 18, 2013 and if teams fill up your player will be placed on a waitlist first come first serve; although every effort will be made to get all who have registered playing football. Combined registrations from last year totaled almost 200 players and we are striving to cap teams this year at 25-28 players per team, so please act quickly! In person registration events will also be held, dates to be announced soon.
There are several ways of registering this year 1) register and pay online at www.scyf.us 2) register online and mail in your payment, 3) print and complete the attached registration form and mail in form and payment. Payments should be mailed to STANWOOD YOUTH FOOTBALL, P.O. Box 82, Stanwood, WA 98292. Payment plans are available and a contract is attached, if you so choose to use this option. Complete signed contract and return with registration form. Please be aware that the 1st Installment payment must be received within 30 days of registration to guarantee your players spot and the balance due must be paid in full by the 1st day of practice.
As part of the merger agreement, we will now participate in and abide by the North Cascade Junior Football League rules and regulations. For some, this will be new so please feel free to review their NCYFL Handbook under HANDOUTS on their website to familiarize yourself with any changes coming up this year. This year will include a new age group bracket defined below; please review carefully to register your player in the correct group. Registration costs below include league insurance, NCYFL league fees, jersey, pants, pads and helmet.
$150 Pee-Wee’s (6, 7, 8 year olds as of 9/1/2013)
$200 Midgets (9, 10 year olds as of 9/1/2013)
$200 Juniors (11, 12 year olds as of 9/1/2013)
$250 Seniors (13, 14 year olds as of 9/1/2013)
Personal Equipment can be provided but no discounts will be given this year. Provided equipment must be NOCSAE certified and must be approved through Stanwood Youth Football and documented. Helmets will have to be the same color as the team your child is playing on (red or black). Parents/Guardians will have to submit an Equipment Use Waiver form (attached). SYF reserves the right to refuse any piece of equipment.
